Not Fun

Even If the graphics were amazing (they're far from it, but lets just say), I could not bear playing this game. I understand the effort in this, but there are quite a few things wrong with this.

- Nearly impossible to win
- No strategy involved
- Spelling errors (not a native English speaker?)
- I hate the buttons for so many reasons
- And much, MUCH more....

It's a bit hard, slightly original, somewhat fun, somewhat repetitive--I'd say it's an overall meh.

Ok, I did not understand what this was at all. If your player has to decipher what they're supposed to be doing, you've done a poor job at explaining. This needs:

-Better graphics (the white background doesn't do it for me.)
-Better controls (press space to shoot doesn't cut it.)
-Music that doesn't overlap
-Instructions (you certainly left me going "What am I supposed to do? / What is this?)
-More clarity (you say "LOCKED", but what exactly is locked on that useless button?)
-Properly spelled enemies that actually try to kill you

If you can see that this needs work now, what were you thinking when you submitted this. You can't hope the viewers don't notice, because they will.

(Also, pistols don't shoot shelled bullets and neither do shotguns.)
(Also, your health increases from getting shot too much.)

Also, the dead bodies became more blurred.

I love the concept!

However, the game itself was a little clunky and difficult because of this. This has great potential, and I would love to see it in a more refined state.

Oh and I noticed that you said "Normally you would take damage for hittimg [sic] walls but that seems mean on the first level," yet whenever I get within a large area of the wall, I get teleported to start.

Fix that in order to allow players to progress through the game.

Like I said, huge potential, good art, great concept, but it just wasn't brought together well.

I look forward to seeing a revised version.

Yes I did.. You got teleported because of the way the engine was designed. this.hitTest(_root.example){
_root.gotoAndPlay("certain level")
}
But I see your point I'll try and do something differnt for the next one.

Ah well so close, It may not seem like it but I take this review into huge consideration and just makes me want to try harder, thanks for the review.

Let me set you up with a classic review layout

GOOD:
-Simple controls, gameplay
-Weapon addition every now and then makes the game bearable
-Smooth running
-Nice visual appeal

BAD:
-Awkward shooting (can't tell when you can actually hit something)
-Slow movement (relatively, I KNOW that he's running alike 50 mph)
-A bit overwhelming (both 5 zombies behind and in front of me and... oh what was that on the ground? Was that some sort of collectible object? What do they do)
-Health system (if you're going to make it a bar, let it deplete gradually; you get hit 2 or 3 times and you die meaning one hit takes at least a third of your health. If you're going to do it that way, I would use a block system)

I saw this a long, long time ago.

It's funny, though because I wasn't really into flash stuff then and didn't pay much attention, but when I got to the clown I remembered the correct answer to the first question and I guessed umbrella* for the second one.

*It's not this, so I'm not ruining it for anyone.
